Ovale’s jazz-inflected soundscapes feature collaborators including Robin Dann and Phil Melanson (both of the Toronto band Bernice), and the album shares Bernice's playful pop sensibility, as well as the intricate intentionality of Talk Talk’s Spirit of Eden.
