Mississauga’s Terry Green have spent the past decade honing their craft, culminating in a tour de force of Canadian screamo. Showcasing their mastery of controlled chaos, PROVISIONAL LIVING sees the group fusing various eras of post-hardcore with the complex guitar arrangements of math rock, D-Beat, and classic rock into a dynamic symphony.

PROVISIONAL LIVING examines deeply personal subjects like self-actualization and grief through poetic verse. The songs’ structures produce ebbs and flows that emulate their thematic arcs. The cyclical nature of “REPEATS,” for example, mirrors the nagging thoughts that fill the narrator’s mind as Adrian Mysliwiec screams, “I remember it like it was yesterday. Reminders penetrate. It feels too cruel to say.” Mysliwiec frequently embraces a clean vocal style for the more vulnerable moments on songs like “PARAMOUNT,” “SAFETY,” and “GNAWING.” The final track, “EASY,” leaves the listener with an unsettled hope for the future and a feeling of catharsis.
